“Wonderful, relaxing stay”
Located on the best beach on Maupiti, we enjoyed a relaxed, laid-back time. Steps to the beach, with kayaks, paddle boards, bicycles etc all included. You can walk across to the opposite Motu, and at night the skies become natures own light show. So dark, with so many stars, just breathtaking. Windows are screened (except for the main sliding door), with fans in both bedrooms. A/C is available for an additional fee, but we did not use, as the fans and the breeze from the lagoon worked out well. Good size fridge/stove/oven/microwave.The is a BBQ outside for use by both houses. The phone is programmed with the owners number, as well a number for a beverage delivery service. There is a floor safe located in the bathroom. Also included are beach towels. sun loungers (with pads), outdoor shower, great Wi-Fi, and use of two washing machines. There are clotheslines out behind each house, (just keep your eyes on the clouds, in case of a quick rain shower). Nhung was a great hostess, made us fresh sashimi, cake, brought us fresh coconut (ready to eat and drink), passion fruit, bananas, papaya, mango and star fruit. Her husband, Alain and Nhung, drove us into to town to get groceries etc, the day following our arrival, as most stores were open. We did bring a few essentials from home as well, so it was all good. On our departure Nhung made us headdresses that smell wonderful. Cons: Bed in main bedroom was not comfortable, and the beds in the other room were just okay. The curtains are made from a light material. so you will be up early. The roosters will help you wake up as well. Tips: If you land on a Sunday, there is only one store open at 4:00pm. He did not have much, as it was between supply ship days. The supply ship comes twice a month. The Espace Pension down the beach has a restaurant, so we walked down early to let them know we would be there for Sunday night dinner. They will also sell you large bottle of Hinano beer to take back to your house, Make sure to return the empties, as this is a big issue with glass bottles. Snak Chez Mimi is open daily until 3:00PM. It is a set menu, but the food was good. Her beers are cheaper as well. (just remember, bring back the empties if they are glass). In all a great time. Would definitely go back. Mauptiti is said to be what Bora Bora used to be. We hope it never comes to that. Maururu Alain and Nhung.

For more comfort we advise to rent the beach house in higher category. It has 1 large bed of 160X200 and 2 beds 90X200 of hotel quality. The supplement is only 16,76 € tax included per house and per night. The beds of the standard beach house are better suited to people of average height and build, we have customers who come for 7 years every year 3 weeks in december january in the standard beach house that they particularly appreciate for its comfort and bamboo charm, the question will be asked them to change the mattresses, they arrive tomorrow.
